I feel the same. I try to leave out finishing times, placements and paces in my writing and posts (besides Strava obviously).
When I began running I fell in the trap of comparing my numbers to others. It took me quite some time to learn to focus on myself (and then to also not care too much about comparing myself against myself...).
I love (trail)running for what it is. A sport to move in nature. To do hard things. To learn that you can do hard things. To learn that you are more capable than you might think.
Is this bound to paces? For sure not. Your fast is your fast. My fast is my fast.
It's the doing it that counts and that everyone should be celebrated for!
You are absolutely right. Thanks for adding the "comparing myself to myself" part. This can be at least as tough as comparing yourself to others. The true value of our sport lies beneath and beyond.
Was die pace betrifft, die Du oder andere haben, das ist für mich ok. Ich freue mich , wenn ich meine pace" altersgerecht" erhöhen kann und einen langen Lauf durchhalten kann. Letzten Sonntag von Obertshausen nach Offenbach/Main , einen großen Teil am Main entlang , gelaufen und mich gefreut, dass ich die 17 km in knapp 2 :09:00 Stunden geschafft habe. Andere würden das sichre in der Hälfte schaffen, aber das ist mir egal, wenn es ihr Ziel und ihr Wunsch ist.
Das Radfahren ist für mich dann eher ein Ausgleich , wo ich auch - bedingt durch das MTB mit Gepäacktaschen :-) - nicht so sehr schnell fahre. Und Berge eh nicht, die gibt es hier bei mir kaum. :-)
