The Lottery.... again.

Ok, I admit this feels weird. What happened? I just registered for the 2023 lottery of Western States. Why did I do this? Because I ran a qualifying race. Which, in my case, was Western States itself. Why is this weird? Imagining running Western States again in 2023 is the most absurd idea I can think of. Yet still, I clearly feel how much gravitate towards this race. Running Western States this year was one of the most formative experiences of my life. And I am absolutely convinced that I will show up there again. May it be as a supporter, crew member, or spectator. And on a far away day maybe even as a runner again. To slowly but steadily pave this way, I need to pile more and more lottery tickets. To add more ticket you need qualifying races. Well, I’ve got one right now. I just really hope that the luck of the draw won’t be on my side this year.
