Final Words
Here we are, only 10 hours and one night sleep until the gun goes off. There’s so much I still wanted to write about. Especially about the totally disruptive trip me and my crew have been through this week. In fact writing was a bit of a shield against negative thoughts and incidents during those last days. But that’s been taken down now. One thing is for sure: Western States 100 is going to be different race experience for me than planned. Different, but not bad. And I will embrace it.
Race starts at 5:00 a.m. (That is Saturday 14:00h, German time). My bib number is 380. You can track the race at www.ultralive.net or subscribe to the official Western States Youtube Channel for a live coverage by and with Dylan Boman and Corrine Malcolm. There’s also a Western States app on the App Store which features the very up to date @irunfar twitter feed. My crew is also gonna to post IG stories on my account every once in a while. They most likely skip the good and the bad and just show you the ugly.
Speaking of my crew. Although all our original plannings were completely annihilated, I am still extremely grateful for all the knowledge, positive energy, cooking, problem solving skills and most of all love and fun the following you guys contributed to my big race: Lisa, Christiane, Marie, Henning & Michi. You’re all out there with me, even if you are not there.
Any last words? Sure:
