Alright, this is what’s up.
Too Far Gone used to be my personal running blog website.
However, over time I found out that interacting with my readers through a static website is just about impossible and so 2003. That’s why most of my blog articles got cross posted to social media, mainly my Instagram. Unfortunately, Instagram is totally not made for blogging.
When I looked for new ways to disseminate my writing in a way that works great, I looked back at my immense knowledge of the internet to find the most obvious solution: An email newsletter.
With a little pinch from my friend Nico Lumma I decided to go for Substack as my (newsletter) weapon of choice. It’s neat, it’s fast, it’s easy to use (for me, as well as for you) and everyone loves it.
Long story short: Welcome to the “Z Letter”.
Here’s what you can expect from my weekly running newsletter:
Updates on my Western States 100 book project
Excerpts, outtakes, research data and background stories from the book
Personal, social and political running blogging from and for the misfits of this sport
A couple of curated articles from the world wide webz
A tiny bit of “all else but running” (Don’t worry, you’re gonna love it)
What NOT to expect:
Shallow product reviews
Questionable training tips
Pointless weight-loss strategies (You are just perfect the way you are)
Incredibly boring race reports
If that sounds good to you, you will start receiving weekly email updates right here in your inbox. You can also log in to the website to read the full archives and other posts as they are published.
Last but not least: This is not a one-way-ticket. Reply to my emails at any time with questions, feedback, and suggestions. I’ll get back to every single message, and I am even looking forward to it.
All the best,
Das Z

If all else fails, you can always see everything on the website.
Thanks again, and please tell a few fellow runners about this little thing we have going here. Thanks <3
